Lumin – Social (“Lumin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a social platform developed by Cristian Privado, with future operations planned under Privado Designs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use the Lumin mobile application (“App”).

By using Lumin, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility & Age Requirements

Lumin is intended for users 16 years of age or older.

• We require date of birth at sign-up to verify age.

• Users under 16 are not permitted to create an account.

• We do not knowingly collect or store data from users under 16.

• If we learn that data has been collected from a user under 16, the account and associated data will be deleted.

Age requirements may change to comply with evolving laws and regulations.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

• First and last name

• Username

• Email address (required)

• Phone number (for future password recovery only)

• Date of birth (for age verification)

• Profile photo/avatar

• Bio, links, and profile information

• Content you create (Drops, Flashes, Loops, captions, messages, comments, likes, reposts)

You may update or change your information at any time through in-app settings.

User-Generated Content

Lumin is a social platform. Content you voluntarily share may be visible to others depending on your account settings (public or private).

Content types include:

• Text posts (“Drops”)

• Images (“Flashes”)

• Videos up to 60 seconds (“Loops”)

• Direct messages (“Signals”)

You are responsible for the content you choose to share. We strongly discourage posting sensitive personal information.

Automatically Collected Information

We collect limited technical and usage information to operate and secure the App:

• Device information (device type, OS version, app version)

• IP address and approximate location

• Session activity (login times, active sessions, security alerts)

• Analytics and crash data

• Interaction data (views, likes, comments, reposts, timestamps)

We do not track users across other apps or websites.

3. Permissions

Lumin may request access to the following device features only if you choose to use them:

• Photos – to upload avatars or posts

• Camera – to capture photos or videos for posting

• Microphone – to record video content

• Notifications – for security alerts and social activity

• Location (approximate) – for session security and login logs

Lumin does not monitor, record, or access these features without user action.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• Account creation and management

• Security, authentication, and fraud prevention

• Session tracking and login alerts

• Content delivery and feed ranking

• Community moderation and safety reviews

• App functionality improvements and analytics

• Responding to support requests

We do not send marketing or promotional emails.

5. Messaging & Signals

Direct messages (“Signals”) are stored until deleted by users.

• If both users delete a message, it is permanently deleted.

• Deleted messages cannot be recovered.

6. Account Deactivation & Deletion

Deactivation

• Temporarily hides your profile and content.

• Lasts 15 days.

• Logging back in restores your account.

Deletion

• Deleting your account schedules permanent deletion after 30 days.

• Logging back in before the deadline cancels deletion.

• Once deletion is complete, data cannot be recovered.

Deleted content, messages, posts, likes, comments, and related metadata are permanently removed.

7. Data Retention

• Active account data is retained while your account exists.

• Deleted content is removed immediately.

• Account deletion results in full data removal after the deletion window.

• Backup data may persist briefly for technical or security purposes before final erasure.

8. Data Export

You may request a copy of your data by emailing lumin.app@outlook.com at least 72 hours before deactivating or deleting your account.

Exported data may include:

• User ID

• Post IDs and captions

• Light (like) counts

• Bio and profile information

• Account creation details

• Avatar identifier

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data.

We do not share user data with advertisers.

We do not track users across apps or websites.

Service Providers

We use trusted infrastructure providers (including Supabase) to host and operate the App.

Data may be accessed by administrators only when required for:

• Moderation

• Abuse reports

• Safety reviews

• Technical support

• Legal compliance

10. Content Moderation & Safety

Users may report or block other users.

Reported content may be reviewed for:

• Hate or harassment

• Sexual explicitness

• Violence or planning of violence

• Criminal activity

While Lumin respects freedom of expression, we do not condone violence, sexual exploitation, or illegal activity.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS)

• Secure authentication

• Access controls

No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect user data.

12. Legal Requests

We disclose information only if required by law, legal process, or valid governmental request.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes.

Updates will be posted at the Privacy Policy URL with a revised date.
